When saturday’s date turned out to be a disaster, I was turning more and more into a desperate. I just couldn’t stand spending my weekends alone any longer.Yes, Nina was perfect on that Friday but I couldn’t possibly call her so soon, can I? Where can I place my precious principles as a man, you tell me, if all of a sudden, she found out that I was desperate for
a fuckcompanionship. Sometimes ego comes a long way, my friend.Time was 10 am in the morning and I was tortured by boredom. I tried blog hopping but was being harassed by boredom again and again with stupid entries like, “I am getting married,” or “7am: I brushed my teeth sideways today. A bit different from yesterday’s up and down motion” or trying to be cool by having cliched profile headliners like,”I m ain’t your bitch! cos I m dat intelligent yo!” Fuck you, Bitch! First of all you don’t need the ‘am’ before ‘ain’t’ and secondly, only stupid bitches like you who is not even black will try to use the ‘werd’ ‘yo’!
Ok enough of my rants.
I called Nina. Oh my god, I can’t believe I dialled her number.
*ringing tone*
Nina: “hello..?”
Me: “Hey Nina, It’s me Neo!”
Nina: *giggles* “Don’t be foolish Ari, I know that’s you! *giggles* I didn’t expect you to call so soon…”
Me: *Fucked!*
Nina: “So what’s up?”
Me: “you know I was thinking *and thinking as fast as I could and praying hard I not to stumble my words* that we go JB later today cos it’s like ages since I’ve stepped in JB. *phewwh… that wasn’t so bad*
Nina:*Silence*

Me: “Nina? you there?” *voice maintained coolness not to panic in case she wanted to refuse*
Nina: *Silence*

Me: “Nina… I was thinking that we.. *shit… stammer rolling* we.. could..
Nina: “Yah I heard you. You want to ask me out to JB cos it’s been awhile since you’ve been there. Right?”
Me: “errr.. yeah… so… errr… wh…”
*cut in*
“Sure!” she said!and I said…. ok.
Nina: “So, what’s the plan?”
Me: “We’ll go JB… “
Nina: “eeeee yah… and which part of JB you wanna go? and what are we gonna do?
Me: “hmmm.. *cummon! think faster than this! why have I not planned everything earlier??? stupid!* We’ll have lunch!”
Nina: “Ok!”
*Silence*
Nina: “and after that?”
Me: “hmmm… we’ll talk.”
Nina: “talk? can we just talk on the phone then?”
Me: “Wh…”
Nina: *giggles* “Just kidding, honey! …
Me: *she called me honeyyyyy….*
Nina: “and tell us what, we are going to get each other gifts before we meet! and YOU, mister artsy fartsy are going to do art on my hand!”
Me: “hmmm…I said Ok!
Nina: “And soooo… what time you’ll be meeting me?”
Me: “Anytime.. when do you want to meet?”
Nina: “Ok tell us what again… Since you said anytime, I am going to give the time and place and youuuu are going to just followwww… okie?”and I said… ok…
Nina: “I am only going to say this once and I am going to hang up!”
Me: *gulp*
Nina: “listen hard… *she breathed in deep and sped this* kranjimrttwothirty!”

And so I had a second date with Nina last Sunday.Lunch date with Ari: A review on ‘J&L Nasi Padang’
Date: 18 December 2005
Location: Right off Plaza Seni, Johore Bahru, Malaysia
After a smooth cross over the causeway, we walked a bit to Plaza Seni and decided to settle for the cafe situated on the right of Plaza Seni when facing the road.There are 2 cafes in fact but we decided to settle for the one furthest on the right.
We were there at the right time just before a slight pour and the place is quite empty. Nothing fanciful but I kind of liked the quiet environment which was perfect for conversation.
Drinks were served and let me tell you, they made good teh tarik and nescafe!
I love it when they serve lime in their washing bowl! Makes me feel cleaner.And finally, the food was served.
Food: 8/10 Moojik Yum Yum!
Service: 8/10 Moojik Yum Yum!
Price: 7.5/10 Moojik Yum Yum!
Concept: 6/10 Moojik Yum Yum!
Recommendations: They keep repeating the same songs. Get more CDs!!!J&L Nasi Padang is 7.375 Moojik Yum Yum!

After that wonderful meal, although I was a bit shocked at the price of the Nasi Ayam Penyet which costed RM6.00 a plate but it sure was worth it, we went to a secluded corner where she told me earlier on she wanted me to draw on her hands.
I totally forgot about the whole thing but I just asked her back,”You brought pen? marker?”
She said not pen, not marker but took out something that I thought was kachang puteh.
It was henna.Well I couldn’t say no because that would make me lose points.
I couldn;t say yes because if I suck at it, she will have to bear with it for the next few weeks…… … …
I said… ok…
and voila! My virgin henna drawing! What do you think? This is done without reference to any design ok… because Nina wanted me to be original. So how? Original or not?
I need comments on the above be it good or best okay?

Actually while waiting for the henna to dry, we walked around city square and boy the place was fucking crowded!
Believe it or not, after we walked around a bit here and there, we ended up going back to the eating place where we had lunch because we wanted to have another round of their tea.
But this time, the cups are smaller??We heard sucky karaoke played by their neighbours and decided to give them a go. Nooo… not the karaoke but the tea. I guess it was a tea day.
While waiting for our orders to come, we had our small little exchange gift session for our small date. By the power of coincidence! Scary coincidence, we bought one another a diary cum organiser…

… in case you are wondering how the neighbours of J&L looks like… (I don’t even know the name of the eating place. This place is too empty for a karaoke entertained eating cafe. Perhaps it’s the dj’s awful voice? hmmm…oh.. here comes the drinks.

The drinks tasted bad. The voice was awful. The crowd was boring. The night was dull.
Nina looked pissed. But seemed to be

That place does not deserve to sell their tea at RM2.80. They do not deserve any support for their karaoke side business because they used lousy microphones and a half dead dj.
They have playful waiters who thought not entertaining guests but dancing around instead is cool. They do not deserve any Moojik! YumYum! They only deserve our departure which most probably not going to return.They suck!
“Nina, let’s go”… I said grabbing her hand as we hurriedly made our way to the customs.

Alhamdulillah, saya selamat tiap kali berada di Johor Baharu. Mungkin saya tak nampak sangat macam orang Singapura, jadi saya tak diperlakukan sedemikian. Padahal semalam aku dah baca tapi tak sempat nak mengomen. So here it is, henna work is tip top – first class. Tapi aku musykil sikit especially pattern at jari area near the kuku. Kau pakai stencil eh??? Kalau tak, oklah.. bila2 aku nak pakai, aku book kau boleh? Aku nak inai kaler macam tu jugak.. mana Lis beli? Lawalah kaler dier. Aku pakai early this month, campur ngan teh mamak pon tak dapat tu kaler. Nak aku rate?
